Synchronotopy – Live Collage Show

Daniele Villa – images /Aleksandar Caric Zar – sounds

Synchronotopy – at the same time, in the same place – is a live collage performance.

Two tables, one filled with old magazines, books, postcards and playcards, the other with various instruments and little objects. Ripping and juxtaposing fragments I improvise, creating continuously changing images, caught by a camera, and screened in a wider scale on a wall, in a room or in the street, at night. On the other side Zar finds with sounds and music a way on its own in the elliptical narration generated by the performance and suggest new paths to follow.

The intimate dimension of collage-making process turns into a collective experience, a journey into the subconscious shared with the audience.

2012  IN CAGE

Macro Testaccio, La Pelanda, Rome
with Luca Venitucci and Aleksandar Caric Zar

A room. Within the room two cabinets. Within the cabinets two musicians.

An attempt to communicate with oneself, with the other, with the audience.

In a mid-nineteenth century illusionist show the Davenport Brothers, tied inside a cabinet, used to invoke the spirits and asked them to play their musical instruments. In IN CAGE the two musicians invoke the spirit of John Cage to find a way to relate with the world. Through sound.

with special appearance by Gabriele Villa
